Is the beginner drivers education course mto certified?
Yes, our course is MTO certified
Will i get a discount on my insurance?
You may be eligible for a discount, please contact your insurance company for more information. A Driver's License History (from Service Ontario) will show proof of successful completion of this approved BDE course, and graduates with a DLH are eligible for an insurance discount.
What supplies do i need to bring to class?
Please bring in a copy of your G1 unless you have already provided it. Everything else you need will be provided!
What if i miss an in-class or in-car lesson?
If you miss an in-class lesson, it must be made up. Please contact the office about scheduling the lesson, typically during the next time the course runs. If you miss an in-car lesson please contact your driving instructor 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Lessons will be made up in-car and can be scheduled with your instructor.
How do I pay for the course?
We have online registration as well as payments the first day of class. For all locations except Kingston payment on the first day of class can be made by cash or cheque. Our Kingston location accepts credit/debit cards as well as cash or cheque.
Is manual transmission available?
All lessons are taught on automatic vehicles.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds will be issued prior to the start of the course. Once the course has begun, no refunds will be issued however we are more than happy to reschedule your course dates.
Do I need insurance before i begin the course?
No, you do not need any insurance to take the course.
Will there be more than one student in the vehicle?
No, all lessons are taught one-on-one with an instructor unless a special request is made by both students to be taught together.
Why do you require my license number for registration?
Your license number is submitted to the MTO in order to update your Driver's License History.
how do i book my g2 road test?
Your G2 test can be booked directly with DriveTest at: https://drivetest.ca/book-a-road-test/
We do not book road tests typically, but your in-car instructor can assist you with this process.
How long do i have to finish the course?
MTO guidelines allow for 1 year from the FIRST date of the in-class portion of the course. If you do not complete the course within one year you will be required to take the entire course again.
When do i start my in-car lessons?
Once you have taken the in-class portion, you should expect to hear directly from an in-car instructor within a week of the last day of your class. If you have not heard from one after a week please feel free to email the office! If you have taken the in-class portion but DO NOT have your G1, then lessons cannot begin until you have sent a copy of your license to the office.
Can I take this course before i get my g1?
Yes, you can take the in-class portion only before you get your G1 as long as you have turned 16, or your birthday is within 2 month of the course date. We require a G1 copy on file at the office before any in-car lessons can be taught.
